MP mountaineer Bhawna Dehariya encourages 52-yr-old Captain Surendra Singh to ascend Mount Everest

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh mountaineer Bhawna Dehariya’s courageous journey of climbing Mount Everest motivated the 52-year-old captain Surendra Singh Yadav from Niwari, Madhya Pradesh to follow his passion of scaling Everest and make his dream come true.

Captain Surendra Singh Yadav who is a Ex.pilot based in Niwari, will be traveling towards his dream destination to climb Mount Everest on March 30, 2021, in the exceptional presence of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath while his alumni of Sainik school Lucknow cadets will also be there to support his conviction.

Captain Surendra Singh Yadav visited the state capital Bhopal on Friday for meeting mountaineer Bhawna Dehariya and taking her best intentions before going on his journey.

On this occasion, Captain Surendra stated that “I will be leaving for the expedition on March 30, 2021. I have come to Bhopal to meet my inspiration mountaineer Bhawna Dehariya who sparked the zeal in me that age is no bar for letting your dreams come true. I had met Bhawna during an event where she narrated her life story from how she dreamt of scaling the highest mountain peak Mt Everest in childhood and despite facing many hardships she accomplished it successfully. I love mountains since school and before entering into civil aviation I also thought of climbing a mountain and this is how I am going to accomplish my dream.”

Further, he stated “Thereafter, Bhawna imparted her guidance for mountaineering course and helped me with other assistances required for this expedition. The day I am heading for the expedition is very special to me as on the same day it is my alma mater’s diamond jubilee celebration.”

On the occasion of this Diamond Jubilee Year, alumni cadet Captain Surendra Singh Yadav will climb Mount Everest. Captain Surendra is from 1980 to 1986 batch of Sainik School, while in 1990 he became the commercial pilot with a license from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Captain Surendra says “When he was in school, the school management had showcased the gloves and other stuff of student cadets who had done the mountaineering in 1970, in the museum at school. Now, in the diamond jubilee year of the establishment of the school, I will be making my alma mater proud by climbing Mount Everest to fulfill that dream.”

Notably, Captain Surendra has completed his basic mountaineering course from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. Now he will be visiting his school in Lucknow on March 30th and will start the expedition to Mount Everest from Kathmandu via New Delhi on March 31st. Captain Surendra Singh Yadav will return to India after completing the expedition on June 3.

Bhawna Dehariya extended her best wishes to Captain Surendra Singh Yadav by presenting her photo of Mount Everest as a memento to him for accomplishing his goal.
