Preparedness is key to battle Covid-19

Have you heard of the saying that “when one has a prepared mind, he can tackle any damn thing in the world”? Yes, that’s the kind of situation we are currently into. Now coronavirus has been a buzzword for the last one year and it starts gaining prominence in our lives when the media floods our feed with a lot of reports of how the deadly virus is creating ruckus in the lives of people all over the world.

So, the world has over 800 crore people alive and this virus that originated in January 2020 has affected the lives of people living in more than 220 countries, which is worldwide. Now when the virus was introduced to us in January 2020, we were quite new to it and the kind of fear that was set in our minds by the government and media of course was that if we step out of our homes or don’t follow the covid-protocols, we will be dead. That was the kind of messaging that made people quite conscious of their ways of living. As and as months passed by and as the number of new infections started going down, say after Diwali 2020 in November, people started becoming complacent and thinking that virus kuch nahi hai aur abhi let’s get back to normal life.

So, came wedding season, festivals being celebrated on a large-scale, massive rallies for elections, crowding at vaccination booths for getting the shots, parties, small and large-gatherings, all between December and March 2021, that led to the spike in the cases and many governments imposing local-level restrictions to curb the virus. Now, we live in a democratic country where everyone has a voice to raise and an opinion to share, so again, there is a lot of negativity everywhere as people are losing lives more than ever on a daily basis and people are struggling with the existing healthcare system. All these teach one lesson to humanity and that is PREPAREDNESS. If one is prepared to face whatever comes, the effect of the virus or any disease or any challenge always has a less effect on him or her. Think about it!
