Don’t play a victim card if your partner is abusive

You know we used to live in an era where people used to be as abusive or ill-mannered as possible and yet wives or husbands never left their spouses because it was their culture or value-system that made them believe in the institution of marriage and they used to tolerate all the rubbish behavior like a victim and yet didn’t raise their voice for a change. The couples those days thought that their relationship was over only when either of the partners died due to some of the other forms of a major sickness.

Those were the days and now are the days when people have wealth, health in abundance and yet you can see every second-day celebrities filing for divorce. Then there are higher-class families who consider the celebrity life as role models and also leave their partners either during a live-in relationship or marriage or during their dating lives and there are some rare cases in middle-class and poor class who leave their partners if they found them cheating or threatening their lives with emotional and physical abuse.

So, the moral of both the above scenarios in terms of romantic relationships is that the tolerance levels are reducing considerably and people are becoming more aware of their rights living in a relationship or marital life. As women are getting more educated due to the increase in literacy ratio among women and even men are being more decent and understanding towards their partners, you won’t find such kind of extreme abuse more prevalent in every second household like how it was earlier.

Like in those days, when a man used to beat his wife, his parents used to consider that as normal as the “wife” might have done something wrong to irritate the man. But now even if a husband thinks of beating his wife, he can be prepared to face the wrath of the many women NGO and police complaints that can land him in legal trouble for torturing his wife.

It is just the lack of awareness and courage among women and men both who even in today’s times face abusive relationships. With the right intervention of a counselor or a well-wisher, the relationship issues can be resolved as no one is born perfect and there is nothing like made-for-each-other couples nowadays. So, just relax and start a new page in your relationships if things are not working in either or both of your favor. Don’t be a victim of abuse and neither be abusive towards your partner as it is not good for you both as well as the society.
