“11 Days for Earth’s Healing” on a mission to restore the ecosystem

Environmental and climate change remains one of the most pressing issues of our time. Almost a month ago, we celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June, followed by various celebrations across the globe, with some raising their concerns over the deteriorating ecosystem. The theme of 2021 is Ecosystem Restoration, i.e., to undo the environmental damage already done.

But the pertinent question looming large over us is how we will restore the environment? Who will do it? Is it the responsibility of one nation, or the entire world will have to come together to deal with the environmental crisis at hand? These are crucial questions not just for the human race but for the animal and plant species to prosper and thrive in today’s ever-changing scenarios.

The effects of climate change are far-reaching, yet the participation of humans is close to negligible. Keeping all this in mind, the Agriculture Rural Development and Environment Awareness Foundation, i.e., ARDEA Foundation, has prepared a vision to restore the ecosystem so that the adverse effect of climate change can be minimized or reversed with time.

The ARDEA Foundation has already brought its vision “11 Days for Earth’s Healing” to life through its most crucial aspect  public participation. Through this initiative, citizens from any part of the globe can contribute to environmental healing. It’s first of its own kind of initiative  where India is taking lead on global platform, with inclusive mindset where every citizen of plant earth matters and can participate

We are all quite busy with our day-to-day life while being involved in business/office activities, 5-6 days of the week, and having one or two days off every week. We need to convert one of the weekly holidays of the month to a workday as part of our contribution to the world environment. We will bank 11 holidays to our yearly calendar to be used from 1st to 11th May of every year through this proposal. During these 11 days, all the road, sea or air traffic will be voluntarily closed;all the construction work will be stopped and institutions that cause harmful environmental damage will be closed. The ARDEA Foundation wrote letters to world leaders of more than 100 countries to incorporate this vision into their policymaking, and constantly in touch with Govt as well as  otherworld organization for advocacy to adopt this new lifestyle as an answer to all the environmental challenges.

We can utilize these 11 Days by spending some good time with our family. Since industries that pollute the environment shall be closed during this time, we will eventually surround ourselves with a healthy ecosystem. In these 11 days, our life won’t come to a standstill; rather will see an overhaul and move forward.

These 11 days, our actions will determine our future, and this invaluable contribution will build a better ecosystem around us for generations to come. The ARDEA Foundation completed its first effort from 1st May 2021 to 11th May 2021 through public participation. The endeavor was acknowledged and appreciated on an international level.

The Foundation aims to bring all the individuals on a common platform to protect Mother Earth. Any further suggestions, questions regarding the initiative, or more information on the “11 Days for Earth’s Healing” program are available on the Foundation’s website at https://ardeaf.org/.
