Bhubaneshwar: A teacher of mathematics severely beat up 14 students at a school in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Tuesday. Four of them were in serious condition and admitted to a local hospital, sources in the district administration said, adding that the teacher was arrested.

Meanwhile, being scolded by her mother, a student of class 12 committed suicide at Kallakurichi Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu. After the incident, a large number of students, staged sit-ins across the state in protest against beating by teachers.
