When it comes to sharing a good bond with blood relationships after our parents it is mostly our siblings. Siblings are those who can also act as our lifelong friends if we maintain a good relationship with them and not involve jealousy, hatred, resentment, come in the way of our relationships with our siblings. Brother and sister or Brother and Brother or Sister and Sister are usually the longest-lasting relationships we have in our lives because parents get old and they may or may not be there to see how we overcome our mid-life and old-age crises.
Usually, as we become adults, our educational qualifications, job experiences, life with our partners and children make us become less interacting with our siblings like how we used to do in our childhood. As we form new relationships and explore new opportunities in our careers, the link of our relationship becomes far and sometimes even strained.
Lack of communication can even create a lot of misunderstandings between two siblings and they seem to not enjoy their bond as they used to do in their childhood. This can not only affect the siblings but even their respective families. Here are some ways you can mend your broken relationship and come together with your siblings again.
1) Often we get to see our siblings at some family functions or if they invite us to their homes to celebrate something, these leave less scope for open communication as there are many family members involved. So, instead, you can plan out for a siblings-day out once a year and speak as much you can and share all that you are going through in your lives and feel lighter. The more you communicate honestly, the more you get to understand each other well in your new age.
2) You can ask your sibling to not let negativity come in the way of your bond. Recollect all your childhood memories and share them on social media and WhatsApp chats with them every now and then. It is important that the photos that you clicked together or a memory that you shared together are relived again to create new funny memories that you can cherish in the long run.
