Inspiring quotes of Swami Vivekananda on his death anniversary

Today is the great spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda’s death anniversary. Born on 12 January 1863, Swamiji hailed from Calcutta in British India. From an early age, Swamiji had a keen interest in topics like humanity, religion, spirituality. He was quite well-read in subjects as history, philosophy, literature, spirituality, and religion.

Swami Vivekananda’s thoughts, ideas, and works have been inspiring the youngsters of our country to become better human beings and lead a life of purity. Today we pay honor to the amazing leader on his death anniversary by reading out the quotes that he had written in his era but are quite relevant even in today’s times.

1) “The goal of mankind is knowledge … Now, this knowledge is inherent in man. No knowledge comes from outside: it is all inside. What we say a man ‘knows’, should, in strict psychological language, be what he ‘discovers’ or ‘unveils’; what man ‘learns’ is really what he discovers by taking the cover off his own soul, which is a mine of infinite knowledge.”

In this quote, Swamiji tried to convey the message that getting knowledge should be the main goal of mankind. However, you will be surprised to know that knowledge doesn’t mean education or degrees but a sense of awareness of self that is all inside and will guide human beings on doing the right things in their lives.

2) “To worship God even for the sake of salvation or any other reward is equally degenerate. Love knows no reward. Give your love unto to God, but do not ask anything in return even from Him through prayer.”

In this quote, Swamiji meant that true love towards God is when we pray to Him but not to ask for something but just worship him for his existence in our lives.

3) “GOD is to be worshipped as the one beloved, dearer than everything in this and next life.”
In this quote, Swamiji tried to say that the Supreme Power is God and there is nothing beyond neither in this nor next life.

4) “Whatever you are doing, put your whole mind on it. If you are shooting, your mind should be only on the target. Then you will never miss it. If you are learning your lessons, think only of the lesson. In India boys and girls are taught to do this.”

In this quote, Vivekanandaji said that one has to put their wholehearted efforts into whatever they do in life.
