Getting a dog pet or puppy at home is one of the most fascinating experiences for pet owners who are nowadays called pet parents. After all, you have now decided to commit yourself to the beautiful furball who is going to give you all the selfless love that you desire in today’s changing times. However, before welcoming the puppy, just make sure that you get the right dog for you.
The reason why we need to assess all the factors before getting the right puppy is so that we don’t abandon dogs after we choose the wrong one or blame the dog at a later stage for not being the way we expect it to be. Selecting the right dog is also based on factors like the size of your home and the type of lifestyle you are having.
1) When you think of getting a puppy, you need to first know which space will it live in. Dogs of different breeds have different space requirements and thus, you should have a clear idea of which area you will give to the dog. Some dogs need small size areas while some need larger ones.
2) How tolerant are you to deal with the activity levels of your pooch? Like some dogs have different ways of exercising and getting their needed energy, some like to lie down while some want the space of your couch. Like a pug, french bulldog, or Great Dane are the ones who are okay to lie down and chill on the couch. While exact opposite ones that are quite adventurous and want your time to take it out or give it that much space to roam around are the athletic dogs like Border Collie or the Belgian Malinois.

3) After you decide on the breed of the dog, you need to analyze the personality of yours and the people living with you. If you have quite a lot of people in your house who are just afraid or hate dogs, then give up the idea to get a puppy at home. If you want to get a dog for safety purposes then you need to ensure that the dog is also brave enough and can guard you well.
