NationalED grills Sonia for third time Amid Congress protests

New Delhi: The Congress workers and leaders continued to protest in Delhi and other parts across the country against the Central government and the officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for grilling party’s interim president Sonia Gandhi in connection with the national Herald Newspaper case for the third time on Wednesday. Earlier, the ED quizzed her on Tuesday and on July 21.

Sources said that the ED did not issue any fresh summons to her, but if necessary,  she may be summoned again. Sonia Gandhi arrived at the ED office at 11am. Her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra carrying a medical box joined her. A group of officials led by assistant director Monika Sharma quizzed Sonia Gandhi. In case her mother needed any medical aid, Priyanka was allowed to be present in a room at the ED office. The same questions as were asked to Rahul Gandhi for five days were put up before Sonia Gandhi.
