The boy also sprayed room freshener to prevent foul smell, besides he threatened his 10-year-old sister to keep her mouth shut and locked her up in another room. Meanwhile, the boy called his friends to the house for a party, telling them that his mother had gone to a relative’s house.

Everything was as usual till Tuesday. But as the neighbours failed to endure the foul smell emanating from the house, they informed the boy’s father, an army official, posted in West Bengal. His father informed the police who discovered the three-day-old body of Sadhna from her house in Eldeco colony, Lucknow, on Tuesday night. The colony comes under SGPI police station.

Additional commissioner of police of Cantonment area Archana Singh said on Wednesday that a friend of Sadhna’s husband informed the police that a foul smell was coming out of the house. The police reached the spot and discovered the discomposed body. According to a forensic team, the woman was shot in the head from a close range and her body was kept in an air-conditioned room.

The father of the boy told the police over phone that on June 4, Sadhna had a set-in with her son over playing PUBG and refused to give him money for it. On her refusal, he flew off the handle, picked up the father’s revolver and shot his mother dead, Singh said. When the police questioned the woman’s ten-year-old daughter, she reeled off the entire story. The boy has been taken into custody. Psychologists have repeatedly appealed to the parents to keep their kids away from PUBG, as its addiction leads to destruction.
