You can now experience the 5G technology as Reliance Jio brings it to 4 cities of India already though the larger part of the country will be able to enjoy it by end of this year.
Here is a list of cities where Jio 5G is available
5G was launched by PM Narendra Modi at the India Mobile Congress early this month. Post the launch, Reliance Jio and Airtel have taken the lead and announced their 5G services for the public.
As of now, Reliance Jio’s 5G services and plans are only available in metro cities – Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai. In the upcoming months, the company has plans to roll out Jio 5G service across the country.
Lets take a look at the Jio 5G speed
Basis multiple Ookla Speedtests that were conducted by the telecom operators, the 5g speed has been witnessed for up to 809.94mbps which is great. The ookla test report mentions that Reliance Jio 5G speed in Delhi is close to 600mbps In other regions like Kolkata, Varanasi and Mumbai, the current speed is 482.02mbps, 485.22mbps and 515.38mbps.
5G Welcome offer
Following a similar pattern like 4G launch, Jio is offering some great welcome offers to its user base in India. Jio 5g plans make the customers eligible to use up to 1gbps unlimited data speed free of cost.
Though Reliance Jio hasn’t disclosed any price related to the new 5G plans yet. The brand has just hinted that it is going to offer 5G service at 4G costs at the moment.
How to activate 5G
People living in one of the above mentioned cities are eligible to experience 5G speeds, the only requirement is a 5g phone. Also, the users need to have a Jio Welcome Offer invite, which is an invitational-based invite only. One needs to check on the My Jio app and confirm if you have the Welcome Offer invite.
