Durg (Chhattisgarh): A man had to pay with his life for making comments on his wife’s dark complexion. This happened in Durg district of Chhattisgarh where a woman polished off her husband with an axe for commenting on her dark skin, the police said on Tuesday.
The 40-year-old woman Sangeeta Sonwani, a resident of Amleshwar village, was arrested on Sunday night for killing Anant Sonwani. According to sub-divisional officer of police in Patan area, Devansh Rathore, said the man used to taunt her wife for dark complexion, for which the couple had fights on many occasions.
As usual, they entered into an argument on Sunday night. No sooner had the man commented on dark skin she flew off handle and attacked her husband with an axe and chopped off her genitals. Initially, the woman tried to deceive the police and villagers saying that someone else had killed her husband, but when the police quizzed her, she confessed to have committed the crime, the police said. Anant Sonwani married Sangeeta after the death of his first wife.
