Mau (UP): The rebel leaders of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) floated a new outfit in Mau district of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday and Mahendra Rajbhar became its first president, sources said, adding that new outfit was christened as Suheldev Swabhiman Party.

At the time of launching the outfit, the party leaders raised slogans against president of SBSP Om Prakash Rajbhar, as they were denied permission to hold a “Mahapanchayat” in a plaza located at Ghazipur trisection. When the supporters of Mahendra Rajbhar reached the venue of the Mahapanchayat, they found the gate of the building locked. After that, they reached the collectorate, but they were shooed away from there by the police, the rebels announced the formation of the new party on the road.

The administration deployed large number of police personnel for the SBSP rebels’ “Mahapanchayat.” Many rebels said OP Rajbhar deviated from the principles of the party. Mahendra Rajbhar contested the 2017 assembly election from Mau as the candidate of the BJP-SBSP alliance, but he lost the election. He is an influential leader among the Rajbhar community in Mau, Azamgarh, Ballia, Deoria and Ghazipur districts of Uttar Pradesh.
