London: Rashmi Samant, a student of Indian origin, has created history by winning the student union election of Oxford University. She is the first Indian woman to do so. According to the LinkedIn profile of Rashmi Samant, an alumnus of Karnataka’s Manipal Institute of Technology, she is focusing on Sustainable Energy.
To improve the worsening climate of the world, she is involved in effective policy formulation and ensuring energy access to all. Rashmi has won the election of President of Oxford Union by a record number of votes. Rashmi Samanta won by 1996 votes which was more than the total votes of her rivals.
