Happy Navratri Day 2: Pray to Maa Brahmacharini

Navratri festival has started from today. This year, the festival is celebrated only for 8 days and will end on 15 October 2021. The Shardiya Navratri festival is a very important occasion for Hindus. On each day, one of the 9 forms of Goddess Durga is worshipped. Tomorrow will be the second day of the festival in which Goddess Brahmacharini is worshipped.

As per the Vedic texts, Brahmacharini means the one who has a lot of sacred religious knowledge. Maa Brahmacharini is shown to wear white clothes and walking on bare feet. She holds Japa mala in her right hand and Kamandalu in her left hand.

Maa Brahmacharini: Mantra

1. Oṃ Devī Brahmacāriṇyai Namaḥ

2. Dadhanakara Padmabhyam akshamala kamandalam,

Devi prasidathu mayi brahmacharinya nuththama.

It is very important that you celebrate each day of this year’s 8-day Navratri festival in the most simplest and quietest manner. Instead of going out or asking people to visit your home, you can simply form a WhatsApp group, get your female friends together and share interesting stories about how you used to celebrate Navratri during the pre-pandemic era.

You can even gift them Amazon or Flipkart vouchers so that they can do online shopping for the things they like and you will also feel good to have gifted something to your female friends this Navratri. There are various traditions and rituals associated with each festival but following it blindly without knowing the meaning of the same and that too at a time when the world is going through a pandemic situation is not recommended. You can celebrate the festival the way you want but only at your home. Do not get into crowds and follow social distancing surely in public places.
