Ahead of the successful clinical trials and advancement of technology to beat the growing menace of heart diseases; detecting heart failure is now possible within 8 minutes with the new 4D heart MRI scanning machine.

A specialized team of scientists at the University of East Anglia was tirelessly working on this new technology that helps early diagnose patients expected to suffer heart failure in about 8 minutes halving the time and helping in better and early treatment. The unique technology makes use of MRI to detect the flow of assessments inside the heart and create a detailed report of  4D flow images of the heart from different angles.

A usual MRI scan takes around 20 -30 minutes to perform the full function as compared to the new 4D heart MRI scan which takes just eight minutes.

The results from the new 4D device are very promising and enable a clear image of the entire heart and blood flow inside, helping doctors to understand and conduct the best course of treatment for patients. This will benefit the specialty hospitals and patients across the world to manage the patients more efficiently.

In this fast paced world of growing heart problems from young and old patients alike, results from rising pressures inside the heart. Though there are different ways of examination but the best method to diagnose heart failure is by invasive assessment, which has been proven to be very risky and an  ultrasound of the heart doesn’t give satisfactory results. Everyone is hopeful that this method can be the most cutting-edge methods of all times.

The team has already tested this on 50 patients at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
