Ranchi: Amid fear of losing of House membership, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren won a trust vote on Monday. The ruling coalition alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was trying to poach their legislators to oust the Soren-led government in the state. There is fear that Soren may lose his House membership in connection with mining lease that he allotted to himself. The Election Commission has sent its recommendations to the Governor for it.

Nevertheless, the ruling coalition alleged that the BJP, which is in opposition in the state, was trying to poach their legislators. Immediately after the ruling coalition’s remark, the angry BJP law-makers walked out of the House. The ruling coalition has 49 legislators in the 81-member House – the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has 30, the Congress 18 and the Rashtriya Janagta Dal  (RJD) has one. The BJP has 26 members. More than 30 MLAs of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) landed in Chhattisgarh fearing poaching by the BJP. They returned to Ranchi.
