College life is the most beautiful phase of one’s life. The “free mindset” and “fun learning” that one experiences during college times are priceless and irreplaceable. How do I know this? Well, I am an ex-management student in the most Hitler-type college in the world. Why do I say Hitler-type? Because everything we tried to do was considered rebellious and everything the college management did was nothing less than a dictatorship.
So, if you are also stuck like how I was in a strict college, here are some interesting things that as a management student should know about college life.
1) College life is not just assignments or projects:
On the first day of my college, all my faculties ensured that we understood that management is all about projects, assignments, industrial visits, internships etc. But honestly, after completing college, I realized that college life is not restricted to any one thing but is a combination of varied experiences that we go through in our 3 years of spending time with faculties, students from our batch, seniors, juniors, other college students, professionals from different companies and yes our favourite Canteen wala! So, never accept the definition of your college life from anyone else. Go, define it yourself and you will indeed rock your college life.
2) College life does not end once you graduate:
I was a complete fool because I ended all my relations with the people in the college after I got my graduation certificate. Little did I know then, that it was not the end but the beginning. When I went for interviews and started working, I connected with so many people in the corporate world with whom I had actually met and interacted during my college days. So, that made me understand that college life is a start for new beginnings in all spheres of life. See, you can even date your senior in college in case you don’t find luck in arranged relationships.
3) College life is not just about getting the graduation degree:
Hmm, so when I told my senior during one of the industrial visits, that I am a bookworm and I aim to just passout from the college and look for jobs, he gave me a stare! (which I still remember). He told me one simple thing that it’s just not the books that’s gonna get me jobs but the knowledge and the person that I evolve as, that’s gonna make me shine in the corporate world. I thought he was influenced by the blockbuster movie “3 Idiots” but today I tell you that my senior was absolutely right! You go to college, not just to sit in lectures and get the passing marks but learn so many things from the surroundings and the opportunities that stays with you wherever you go and whatever you do in your life.
Like Ranchoddas Chanchad used to say in the movie “3 Idiots” that “Study to become capable and not just to become successful”, I would say that “Do enjoy your college life like every student but ensure that you have a purpose in your life as a management student”.
