Hindus and Muslims together celebrate Holi at this shrine

Deva Sharif (Barabanki): Devashreef is a place in Barabanki district of UP where the dargah of Sufi saint Haji Waris Ali Shah situated. This is the place where Hindus and Muslims celebrate holi with full faith and ask for vows. On this holy land, a great example of communal harmony is seen on the day of Holi. Muslims along with Hindus celebrate Holi together and give a message of national intigrity.

Today once again the same scene was seen at the dargaah of Haji Waris Ali Shah. People of all religions and communities played Holi fiercely, colored each other, hugged and congratulated each other.

A large number of the followers of Haji Saheb belong to Hindus, Haji Saheb, who considered Ram and Rab as one, had adopted this tradition in his time and this tradition which is more than 150 years old still exists in Deva Sharif. Haji Saheb himself used to play Holi with Abir and Gulal.

This morning the devotees reached the dargaah of Haji Waris Ali Shah and after having darshan, greeted each other. People are seen in different colors here but not as Hindus and Muslims.
