Vaishno Devi Mandir to be closed due to coronavirus outbreak

Jammu: In view of the panic of Corona virus across the country, the Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to postpone the visit of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple, the main pilgrimage site of the state. An order in this regard has been issued by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. This decision has been taken while thousands of devotees from all over the country are preparing to visit Mata Vaishno Devi from March 25.

According to information received from government sources, more than 3 lakh devotees visit the temple premises to visit the Vaishno Devi temple during Navratri. In such a situation, it has been decided to postpone the journey as a precaution in view of the conditions of travelers from all over the country. Apart from this, orders have also been issued to ban all buses coming from other states.

Officials of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Temple Shrine Board say that currently all the passengers traveling on the track up to the temple are being sent ahead of the Ban Ganga check post after thermal check. Apart from this, concrete arrangements have been made in all the dispensaries of the Shrine Board on the Yatra route as a precaution.
