Vat Purnima is going to be celebrated on 14th June 2022, Tuesday all over India. The auspicious day is observed in the same way as Vat Savitri Vrat. On this day, married women pray for the long life and well-being of their husbands. As per an old story, Savitri saved the life of her husband Satyawan from Yama, the God of death by tricking him. Thus, married women pray to Devi Savitri and wish to be like her when it comes to saving the lives of their husbands. This year, the Purnima tithi will start at 9.02 PM on 13th June and end at 5.21 PM on 14th June.

It is also believed that the Vat tree or Banyan tree has an important role during this festival as Savitri sat under this tree and prayed for her husband’s new life from his deathbed.
