Lucknow: Ramakant Yadav is an MLA of Samajwadi Party from phoolpur pawai seat of Azamgarh district. He made a controversial remark over Holi by saying, it is not our festival. Can any father tries to burn his own son? he asked. I don’t like Holi festival. As people try to touch the daughters and daughter in laws of weaker sections in the name of festival, I don’t like it, he added.

BJP has fielded his son, Arun Yadav as an MLC candidate from Mau-Azagarh Local Authority Seat. On Saturday, BJP announced 30 candidates for legislative council elections of 36 candidates from 35 areas. These candidates have to file their candidature before 21st of Mach.

11 thakurs have been fielded

Among 30 candidates, 11 hails from Thakur community to which CM Yogi Adityanath belongs. Dinesh Pratap Singh from Raebareily, CP Chandra from Gorakhpur, Rishipal Singh from Aligarh, Jitendra Singh Sengar from Banda, Hari Pratap Singh from Pratapgarh, and Pavan Singh Chauhan from Sitapur are among thakur candidates. Besides this, 5 are from Brahmin castes. Among them, Pranshu Dutt Dwivedi, Vageesh Pathak, and Hariom Pandey are also.

MLCs who left SP, also awarded

MLCs who left Samajwadi Party have also been awarded with the tickets. CP Chandra, Ravishankar Singh alias Pappu Bhaiya, Narendra Bhati, and Rama Niranjan are among them.
