Lucknow: Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath continues to talk to the representatives of the local bodies, as they have to poll for 36 seats of the upper house. Convincing them to poll for BJP, Yogi said for the unhindered growth of the state, the BJP must have the majority in the upper house too.

In the last tenure of Adityanath’s government Samajwadi Party had the majority in the legislative council. Adityanath said the opposition tried to create hurdles so this time the majority should remain with BJP. Digitally addressing a meeting of village heads of various gram panchayats and ward members of urban civic bodies he said, we somehow managed to get welfare schemes for different sections of the society passed in the House last time. Today BJP is heading towards a majority so they must vote for BJP.
Out of the 36 seats, BJP has already won nine unopposed, he added. He continued, if the BJP wins all 36 it will have a two-thirds majority in the upper house. Then the government will not have any problem taking forward the development schemes.

BJP is already ahead of SP
In the 100-member UP legislative council, BJP is already ahead of SP. It has 35 members while SP has 17 representatives. BSP has 4 whereas Congress, Apna Dal (Sonelal), and NISHAD party have one member each. The Teachers’ group has two MLCs, Nirdal Samooh, and independents have one MLC each.
