Prayers are an integral part of a human’s life. Be it any religion or caste, a human being who bows down to the Almighty or God is the one who actually realizes his life’s true meaning. I have seen people who are too religious, too religiously orthodox, too spiritual, and even some atheists in my life. Atheists don’t believe that God exists and even don’t enter the temples or worship places. On the other hand, people who are true believers of God don’t mind traveling to far places to show their devotion and adoration to God.
Friday prayers to resume in UP mosque from Aug 27
I will not touch on what happens to atheists and why are they so the way they are. I will only tell you here how praying to God can help you in the journey called LIFE. Prayers help a person to understand that he is not alone in this world. You take any prayers, written in any language, and the moment you start reading them or chanting them with utmost devotion, you will get transformed into a world where there is eternal bliss.
And the moment you come back to the real world where you are flooded with crime, insecurities, violence, and threats, you will get the confidence to still keep moving and doing your karma, because of the connection that you have established with God through your prayers. You are less likely to believe in negative energies because you have the innermost trust in God or the Supreme Power that makes you think that good always exists in the world despite all odds.
I started praying to God at the young age of 7 when my aunt taught me to write Om Namaha Shivaya, Sri Rama Jayam, and Om Ganeshaya Namaha mantras in a book. She also taught me how to concentrate on our prayers even if there is a lot of noise in the background. Her encouragement helped me to keep believing that no matter whatever happens in my life, I will always be saved by someone who has been sent by God. And that “someone” can also come in the form of my ideas to save myself and move forward in my life.
Being an extreme introvert, I always struggled to take up new projects in life because I had no confidence that they will be completed by me. Even during the pandemic times when the temples were closed and I was not doing well in my personal and professional lives, I kept praying to God to give me the courage, enthusiasm, positive energy, etc. to face life as it comes. And guess what, through constant writing of the mantras in my spiritual book, my self-esteem improved, and eventually, I started getting better work opportunities and also the ability to communicate my thoughts and ideas with my family members, friends, and relatives.
I have seen people who overcome various challenges in their lives just through the act of prayers on a daily basis to their Ishta devata and even Kuladevata. So, have you been praying lately to God to grant your wishes? Let us know how praying has helped you so far in your life in the comments below.
