Stalker stabs Class12 girl in Jhansi area of UP

A 16-year-old girl has become the latest victim of Uttar Pradesh’s knife crime epidemic when a stalker stabbed her. The girl undergoing treatment at Rani Laxmi Bai Memorial Medical College sustained injuries in the neck and face, the police said.

No sooner had she come out of her teacher’s residence than a man stabbed her at Mission Compound locality in Jhansi. Her mother alleged that a local youth had been harassing her daughter for the past two years and used to stalk her. The girl complained about it to her parents who met the youth’s parents and advised him to keep away from the girl. The youth, too, assured them of following their advice.

The mother of the girl further said that he had attacked the girl on Monday night when she was returning from her teacher’s house. On hearing her yells, the teachers came out of his house and sent her to the hospital.

Circle of the city Rajesh Kumar said that the girl as well as her attacker had known each other and talked over the phone. Kumar further said that a team had been formed to search for the youth.
