UP govt dismisses 841 state law officers

Lucknow: As many as 841 state law officers attached to the Uttar Pradesh government have been dismissed with immediate effect, sources said on Tuesday. The Law and Justice Department issued the order according to which 505 law officers have been dismissed from the Allahabad High Court’s principal bench. Similarly, 336 government advocates of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court have been dismissed from their services.

In the same way, the state government has discharged additional advocate general Vinod Kant from duty. It was part of the change made by the government, said a lawyer. Twenty-six additional chief permanent advocates have also been removed from the Prayagraj Principal Bench. Likewise, 179 permanent advocates have been granted leave.  Significantly, two chief standing counsels of the Lucknow bench have been removed. The advocates have not been assigned any reason for their removal, agency and TV reports say.
