Jammu: Amarnath Yatra has been stopped this year in view of the ongoing Corona epidemic in the country. The Amarnath Shrine Board has taken this decision in view of the Corona crisis.

In fact, this year, the Amarnath Yatra, which starts from June 23, has been canceled. This is the first time Amarnath Yatra has been canceled even before it starts.

Apart from this, the crisis has also arisen on dozens of other religious visits in the state in the months of July and August.

In the event of increased lockdown, the date of advance registration for Amarnath Yatra was extended from 15 April to 4 May. Travel registration was to begin from April 1, but was postponed until April 15 due to the lockdown. Travel preparations were affected due to Corona. According to the predetermined schedule, the Amarnath Yatra was to begin on June 23.

The spokesman said that the Shrine Board unanimously decided that it would not be prudent to organize the yatra in view of the prevailing epidemic situation in the world. It was also decided by the board that Pratham Puja and Sampurna Puja would be performed with traditional enthusiasm. It was also decided that the board would explore the possibility of spreading the worship and darshan of Shivling online and through other media to millions of devotees around the world.
