Just few days after a private group on Instagram named ‘Bois Locker Room’ was exposed, a similar case has come into picture in Kolkata.
For the people who are unaware, the group Bois Locker Room is a group of schoolgoing children in Delhi who were exposed for misusing photographs of minor girls and promoting rape culture and casual sexism.
A Twitter user named Aiyoobrows criticized some Kolkata men for misusing semi-nude and nude pictures of women by uploading them on Google drive and circulating it with their friends. The user also shared that these photographs of women uploaded without their permission was used to threaten the victims in the past.
Soon after the Twitter post went viral, many women shared their stories about their harassment by two ex-students of Jadavpur University (JU). Some women said that the Google drive was like an open secret in JU. The case is however 4 years old and Internal Complaints Committee at JU has been contacted by media outlets to dig more details of the case.
It seems the news of Bois locker room in Delhi encouraged women in Kolkata to open up about their struggles and past sufferings.
