Yogi government’s U-turn on mobile ban order in Covid-19 ward

Decision withdrawn after sharp criticism from opposition

Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has withdrawn the ban on mobile carrying of patients admitted to Covid-19 Dedicated Hospital. In this regard, a new order has been issued by Uttar Pradesh Director General of Medical Education and Training KK Gupta.

In fact, the UP government on Saturday issued an order banning mobile phones of patients admitted to isolation wards of Covid-19 dedicated hospitals. This decision of the government was also questioned by opposition leaders. The government has withdrawn its order following criticism.

Akhilesh tweeted, “If the infection spreads from mobile, it should be banned in the entire country with separate wards.” In fact, the truth of the maladministration and the plight of hospitals should not reach the public, that is why this ban has been imposed. The need is not to ban mobiles but to make hospitals free of infections. ”
