New Delhi: Braving the rains and harsh winter of Delhi, farmers continue to protest at the national capital’s border Singhu as their agitation against the three new agri reform laws entered day 39 on Sunday.
The protesting ryots at Singhu border were seen managing the situation by pulling waterproof tents over their makeshift enclosures following the rains started since early morning today.
Meanwhile, the protesting site at Burari ground got water-logged due to heavy rains. However, the rain could not affect the morale of farmers either at Burari, Singhu or Ghazipur borders and the message was loud and clear that they will continue to stay till their demands are met.
Farmers at Ghazipur border, mostly from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, entered day 37 of their agitation.
On the other hand, more farmers groups as well as individual peasants, their family members, women and children are on their way to Delhi despite the harsh weather conditions to support the movement.
On Saturday, Sanyukt Kisan Morcha gave an ultimatum to the government that farmers will march into Delhi on January 26 with their tractors if their demands are not met.
