Srinagar: The last surviving member of the constituent Assembly which framed the constitution of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir Krishan Dev Sethi passed away at Jammu on Thursday morning.
The former chief minister and president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti expressed her condolence on the demise of Sethi.
He was 93 and is survived by son Achal Sethi, law secretary and a daughter.
Sethi breathed his last at his Jammu residence this morning.
Sethi was born on January 1, 1928 at Mirpur in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK). A supporter of an independent J&K, Sethi was equally popular in PoK.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Ms Mehbooba said, “ Deeply saddened to know of Sethi sahab’s demise. I was hoping to see him in Jammu. He treated me like a daughter & will always be an integral part of my childhood. Will miss his wisdom & guidance”.
