New Delhi: The investigation of the Rinku Sharma murder case in Mangolpuri area of Delhi has now been handed over to the Crime Branch of Delhi Police. Police have arrested five accused in this case so far. The accused have been identified as Zahid, Mehtab, Danish, Tajuddin and Islam. Rinku’s family says he used to raise slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in the area, on which the accused had objections.
The family alleges that Rinku was killed because he used to raise slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in the area. On 5 August 2020, Rinku also organized a Sri Ram rally in the area in the joy of becoming a ‘Ram Temple’. Even then people from the accused side objected. Rinku’s mother says that 30-40 people came. Sticks, poles and knives were brought together.
On the Rinku Sharma murder case, Delhi Police spokesperson Chinmay Biswal said that on 10 February late in the evening some boys had arrived at a restaurant in Mangolpuri area to celebrate the birthday party. There was a fight over the closure of an old restaurant business, after which he left. One of them and some boys involved in the quarrel again reached near Rinku Sharma’s house and in this fight, Rinku stabbed her, which led to her death. We are investigating the incident from every angle. Till now the matter like religion has not come in our investigation.
