Toolkit case: Disha Ravi’s police remand extended to one-day

New Delhi: A local court on Monday remanded 22-year-old climate activist Disha Ravi, accused in alleged ‘toolkit’ case, for one-day police custody.

Additional Chief Magistrate of Patiala Court Pankaj Sharma passed the order, after the Delhi Police demanded five-day custody to interrogate Ravi, as new links have been found.

Ravi’s five-day judicial custody expired on Monday. Previously, she was remanded to three-day police custody.

Opposing the custody, Advocate Siddharth Agarwal, appearing on behalf of the accused, reminded the court that Ravi had already been under custody for a total of eight days.

The climate activist’s regular bail plea is slated for hearing in the Session’s Court on Tuesday.

As per police, Ravi created the toolkit and shared it on social media. The toolkit, according to police, is a document of farmers’ protest that has a section titled ‘prior action plan’ about digital strikes to be conducted through hashtags on and before January 26 and tweet-storms from January 23.
