Uttarakhand CM came into controversy by commenting on ‘torn jeans’ on women

Dehradun: The new Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Tirath Singh Rawat has come into the discussion regarding one of his statements. On Tuesday, a workshop was organized by the Uttarakhand State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights in Dehradun. At the same time, in a statement, he made a comment about women wearing torn jeans and said that they do not think that such women can give the right environment to their children at home.

He said that he was surprised to see a woman running an NGO wearing torn jeans and was worried about what kind of example she was presenting in the society. He said, ‘If a woman like this will go to meet people in the society, listen to their problems, then what kind of education are we giving to our society, our children? It all starts at home. Children learn what we do. If the child is taught the right culture at home, no matter how modern he becomes, it will never fail in life.

He said that on the one hand, while the western countries see India’s yoga and the tradition of covering their bodies, on the other hand, ‘we run after nudity’. He said, wearing torn denim and looking like rich children – all these values are being taught to children. If not coming from home, where is it coming from? What is the fault of the school and teachers in this? Is it a good thing to show girls ‘knees?’
