Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Wednesday transferred Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, who was facing criticism for ‘dealing’ with the case of explosives being found outside the home of renowned industrialist Mukesh Ambani.

State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that Hemant Nagrale Singh, senior IPS officer, holding additional charge of Director General of Police of Maharashtra, will be the new Commissioner of Mumbai Police. Singh has been transferred to the home guard department of the state. Deshmukh, who met state Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday afternoon, gave this information via Twitter.
