Nagaland declared as disturbed area for six months

New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has declared the northeastern state of Nagaland as a disturbed area for six more months from today.

In the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday, it has been said that the Central Government believes that the entire Nagaland

The situation is disturbed and dangerous and there is a need for the help of the armed forces to cooperate with the civil administration. In view of this, the Central Government under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958, the entire Nagaland has been declared a disturbed area for six months from Wednesday.

Nagaland was declared a disturbed area last year as well but that period was ending today.
