Filmmakers Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan are collaborating to present the Tamil film anthology Navarasa.
Navarasa means the nine rasas or emotions and the film series will be streamed on Netflix.
There will be nine short films, means one film for each emotion such as anger, compassion, courage, disgust, fear, laughter, love, peace and wonder.
Apart from these two filmmakers, there are also others like Arvind Swami, Bejoy Nambiar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Karthik Subbaraj, Karthick Naren, KV Anand, Ponram, Rathindran Prasad and Halitha Shameem who will also be working on films on these emotions.
The earnings of these short films will be used for the betterment of film workers in Tamil cinema affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ratnam and Panchapakesan are delighted to work together and come up with unique ideas to raise money for social causes.
Netflix India is elated to stream these nine interesting short films that is marked as the celebration of the craft of filmmaking and the magic of Tamil film industry.
