Eurosport India, a sports channel owned by Discovery, has named Bollywood actor John Abraham as the brand ambassador for MotoGP, the company’s main motorsport product. Abraham, a self-proclaimed motorbike fanatic and a die-hard MotoGP fan, will be seen promoting the sport in India with a campaign called “MotoGP, Race Lagate Hai.”
For its Indian audience, Eurosport India and over-the-top (OTT) video streaming provider discovery+ hold the live and exclusive broadcasting rights for all three premier classes, including Moto 2, Moto 3, and Moto GP. Eurosport India presently has motorsport properties such as Nascar, Indycar Series, Bennetts British Superbike racing, FIA Formula 2 Championship, W Series, and Moto GP.
The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) sanctioned Grand Prix motorcycle racing, also known as Moto GP in the United States, takes place on road circuits. Eurosport India is broadcasting it live in India. Yamaha’s R15 has signed on as a co-presenting sponsor for the show’s telecast in India.

“John Abraham is synonymous to motorcycles. He brought the culture of riding bikes to the mainstream and is a role model to many youngsters who enjoy riding bikes. This will play a vital role in promoting MotoGP among the masses, we hope that by launching this campaign, we will be able to increase its reach across the country while also igniting more significant discussion about the sport’s thrills and competition.” said Vijay Rajput who is the head of Eurosport India. Vijay also serves as the senior vice president of product distribution, and affiliate sales at Discovery Inc.
The campaign would be promoted through various means including radio, hoardings, and outdoor media.
