Rakul Preet Summoned by ED for Drug Case

Rakul Preet Singh, an actress, was invited here on Friday to conduct a probe of money laundering of a high-end narcotics network in the city seized in 2017 by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED).

The ED had previously summoned around ten Tollywood stars in connection with a spectacular scam involving the supply of high-end drugs such as LSD and MDMA, which Telangana’s Prohibition and Excise department was busted.

In that instance, Telugu filmmaker Puri Jagannadh and actress Charmee Kaur were earlier asked by ED. In July 2017, the drug ring was uncovered. More than 20 people have been held, including a former NASA aeronautical engineer, the Netherlands national, a South African national and seven graduates of B.Tech who are employed by global companies.

During the interrogation of those detained in connection with the scam, the identities of certain Tollywood celebrities were revealed. As part of their survey, Telangana’s Department of Prohibition and Excise Special Investigation Team (SIT) questioned 11 Telugu film industry-related people, including actors and directors, and one of the actors’ drivers.

The SIT asked them whether they, consumers, providers and those detained, had any connection with the fraud. The ED has appealed and ordered to appeared before the Tollywood celebs questioned by the SIT. The SIT was interrogated at the time by Rakul Preet, on the other hand. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) questioned her last year about the narcotics investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death.
