Technology giant Google has shared an update on its Flood Forecasting Initiative in the country.
The company said that it has covered the entire India under its Google systems.
The idea is to help save over 200 million people across more than 250,000 square kilometres.
This is more than 20 times to the area it has covered in 2019. Till date, the company has provided over 30 million updates to people living in flood-hit areas.
Apart from this unique campaign, Google has also collaborated with the Bangladesh Water Development Board to get its alerts systems to Bangladesh.
Google also has plans to launch a new forecasting model in 2020.
Google has also provided support to the governments and people in the country by providing alerts about the flooding so that they can do its preparations well.
Google’s flood forecasting system has interesting insights to know more about flood depth, timing and volume of water rise, and a more accurate depth maps of flood-hit areas.
