Sony can soon expand its line-up of cinema cameras with the launch of Sony FX3. This new camera’s images have recently been leaked by Japanese camera leaker Nokoshita and Twitter user Joe Lawry.
The new camera will come with similar specs as the A7S III, including 4K/120 fps video, dual CFexpress card slots, in-body stabilization and a still photo mode. The big change comes in design where the FX3 ditches the centre bump. It looks more like the Sony A7C but features a larger handle and joystick on top.
The image should show a flip-out display which lacks the ND filter found in other Sony Cinema Line cameras. The other key feature missing from the Sony FX3 is the support for 8K videos.
The full body of the camera features the three standard tripod screws and large recording button. The camera can be used with accessories such as displays, microphones, etc. required by video shooters. The camera will be positioned in the affordable category and can be launched as early as this month. It can also be Sony’s smallest Cinema Line camera so far.
