Realme will launch the world’s cheapest 5G smartphone next year, which will cost less than Rs 10,000

Realme announced on Thursday that the company would launch a new 5G smartphone by next year at a price of less than Rs 10,000. It is also planning to offer the 5G smartphone for Rs 7,000. Realme Vice President and CEO Madhav Sheth said at the Realme 5G Summit that the company would invest Rs 2,100 crore globally to research and develop 5G smartphones and open research and development centres at different locations worldwide including India.

Madhav Seth said that in the next 3 to 4 years, the Realme company would enter the second-generation 2.0 of 5G smartphones, where 5G smartphones in the second generation will be cheaper than before. He said that soon 5G smartphones would be present in the mid-range and entry-level segments. For this, the company will expand its 5G portfolio. In the year 2020, Seth said that Realme launched about 14 products in 22 markets, which was 40 per cent of its portfolio. At the same time, in the year 2022, the number of 5G products of Realme is expected to increase by 20 per cent to 70 percent. All these products of Realme will be available in the worldwide market.

Rajen Vagadia, Vice President and President, Qualcomm India & SAARC, said that with 5G smartphones in countries like India, telecom companies would launch 5G networks as soon as possible. 5G commercial is available in India. 5G devices are already available in most parts of India. The reason for this is that customers know that 5G will provide great gaming and camera experience.

Madhav Seth said that Realme has decided that the company will use 90 per cent of its R&D resources to develop 5G and next-generation technology. In the next two years, the company will invest $ 300 million globally in developing 5G technology.
