Mumbai: There are at least 53 media personnel in Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai who have been confirmed to be infected with the corona virus. This information was given by an official of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). He said that a special camp was set up at Azad Maidan on 16 and 17 April to investigate Covid-19 and saliva samples of 171 mediapersons, including journalists, photographers and cameraman of electronic and print media were collected.
BMC spokesman Vijay Khable said, “Out of a total of 171 samples, 53 have been found infected with the corona virus. They reported that most of them have no symptoms yet. Khabale said that all the infected will be kept in isolation and the process is on to find a suitable place for this. He said that efforts are also being made to trace the people who came in contact with him.
It is worth mentioning that till Sunday, a record 2,724 people have been confirmed infected with the Corona virus in Mumbai, out of which 132 have died.
