Seven new Covid-19 cases found in green zone state Goa

Panaji: Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said on Thursday that seven people have been found infected with Covid-19 in Goa. The central government has declared Goa as a green zone as there was no active covid-19 case in the state since May. Rane said that the results of samples from seven suspects tested at the Government Goa Medical College and Virology Laboratory of the hospital have come up positive.

Rane said that seven people, including three women, have been shifted to a hospital to treat Covid-19 patients. A senior health department official said that seven patients included five members of the same family of Goa and their driver, who came here from Mumbai.

One year old girl is among the five members of the family found infected with the corona virus. The official said that the seventh person found infected is a truck driver, who recently came here to deliver goods from Gujarat.

The state was declared a green zone on May 1 after all seven Covid-19 patients recovered in Goa were declared on May 1, following which the state government has given permission to resume most economic activities, including industries.
