New Delhi: Corona vaccination campaign will start in the country from January 16. The central government has already made it clear that the vaccine will be first given to 3 crore health workers and frontline workers, which will be free. Vaccination of the remaining 27 crore people to be vaccinated in the first phase will start after that. PM Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with the Chief Ministers of all states on Monday regarding the Corona vaccine. Although there is no clarity on whether other people will get the vaccine free or not.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday held a high-level meeting on preparations for corona vaccination, in which it was decided. Apart from the cabinet secretary, the prime minister’s principal secretary and health secretary, other concerned officials were present in the meeting. In this meeting, the Prime Minister was told that how the Central Government is preparing for the soon-to-be-started vaccination campaign with the states. The Prime Minister was told that so far 79 lakh beneficiaries have been registered on the Covin App, who are to be given vaccine in the beginning.
It is known that the first shipment of Corona vaccine Covishield is scheduled to reach other major cities of the country in the next 72 hours. The consignment is scheduled to arrive at Indira Gandhi Airport in Delhi. The vaccine of Corona virus is Covishield, which is made by Oxford University and British firm AstraZeneca. This vaccine has been prepared in Serum Institute of India. Vaccination of 30 crore people in India will begin through this. Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin has been kept as a backup, which can be used in case of a sharp increase in corona cases.
