UP govt. should consider imposing complete lockdown in Corona affected cities: High Court

Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court has directed the state government to consider imposing a complete lockdown regarding the Covid infection. The High Court has directed the state government to consider imposing a complete lockdown for two or three weeks in the affected cities. The court has said that the government should expedite the tracking, testing and treatment scheme. Instructions have been given to make temporary hospital in the open grounds and arrange treatment for the corona victims.

The Allahabad High Court said that if necessary, staff should be deployed on contract. The High Court has fixed April 19 as the next date of hearing and has sought an affidavit from the officer of the Secretary level. The court said that no person can be seen without a mask on the road, otherwise the court will take contempt proceedings against the police. The court said that not more than 50 people should gather in social religious events.

This order has been given by the High Court on the PIL filed on the Corona case. The court said that night curfew or corona curfew are small steps to prevent infection spread. It is limited to stopping the night party and religious gathering in Navratri or Ramadan. The court said that when a storm comes in the river, the dam cannot stop it, yet we should make efforts to prevent corona infection.

The court said that non-essential traffic should be controlled even during the day. The court said that if life is there, then we will be able to take facilities again and the economy will also get better. Development is for individuals, when man is no more, then what will be the meaning of development.

The cities most affected by Corona include Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur. The court said that a year of infection has passed, but the treatment facilities could not be extended. The court directed all district administrations to strictly follow the guidelines of the state government on April 11.
