Mumbai: On Friday, 13 patients died in a fire at Vijay Vallabh Kovid Hospital in Virar in Palghar district of Maharashtra. According to Vijay Vallabh Covid Hospital Officer Dr. According, a sudden fire came out of the AC at 3 o’clock in the night. 13 patients have died due to fire in the ICU. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has ordered an inquiry into the fire incident in the hospital.
Hospital sources said that the fire broke out in the ICU ward at Vijay Vallabh Hospital in Virar at around 03.15 am when an air conditioner exploded. There were 17 patients admitted to the ICU ward. 13 patients died in the incident while four other patients were taken to another hospital.
On the incident, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that a detailed investigation will be done and action will be taken against the culprits after taking a report in 10 days. At the same time, Minister Eknath Shinde said that this is a very sad incident, it will be investigated and action will be taken against the culprits. The remaining patients are being shifted to other hospitals.
