Corona infection will be at peak in mid-May, more than 5,600 people will die every day

New Delhi: The second wave of Corona continues to wreak havoc in India. Every day records of corona infections are being broken and people are being killed. IIT scientists have reported that between May 11 and 15, corona infection cases will peak. Scientists at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) have made this estimate based on their mathematical model. At the same time, the US study has also claimed that the country will have a peak infection in the middle of May and there will be more than 5,600 deaths everyday.

IIT scientists say that at that time the number of active patients in the country can reach 33 to 35 lakhs and thereafter there will be a sharp reduction in cases by the end of May. In the last 24 hours, 3,46,786 new cases of Kovid-19 have been registered in the country, while a record 2,624 more deaths have been reported. At present, the number of active patients in the country has exceeded 2.5 million.

Scientists from IIT Kanpur and Hyderabad have estimated the number of under-treated patients to rise to 10 lakhs by mid-May before the reduction in cases, based on the applied ten susceptible, undetected, tested (positive) and remove approach (formula) model.

Earlier this month it was estimated through mathematical models that the rate of infection in the country would reach its peak by 15 April but this did not prove to be true.
