In Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, the first case of Omicron has been discovered. This was recently confirmed in a woman who had recently returned from the East African country of Malawi. According to Divisional Surveillance Officer Dr. Ashok Talian, Omicron has been confirmed in this woman’s genome scavenging report.

This woman is being treated in home isolation, according to Dr. Ashok Talian. All of the people who came into contact with the woman’s samples were submitted to be examined. Meanwhile, in Meerut, the unmanageable pace of Corona continues. On Thursday, 15 more instances were discovered. A woman who recently returned from Singapore is also implicated in these 15 cases.
