New “Subscription Feature” Will Roll Out in Instagram

Instagram, which is owned by Meta, has apparently begun exploring a new feature to help creators make more money. Instagram has introduced Instagram Subscriptions, a new business model that would allow creators to make money with the help of their communities.

In June 2020, Meta announced Facebook Subscriptions, a similar option for creators on the popular social media network. Now, the corporation is expanding the same business model to Instagram.

Instagram Subscriptions aims to “build stronger connections with their most engaged followers and grow their recurring monthly income by giving subscribers access to unique content and rewards,” according to the company.

Subscribers, on the other hand, will gain access to Subscriber Lives, Subscriber Stories, and Subscriber Badges as soon as they sign up.

Creators may now unlock and add a “subscribe” button to their Instagram profile with the  new Subscriptions functionality. Creators will be able to choose their own monthly pricing.

Instagram has also stated that it will not charge creators any fees for these memberships until 2023, demonstrating its commitment to the platform’s producers.

It’s currently unknown when Instagram Subscriptions will be available worldwide. According to rumours, Instagram will roll out the function in other significant areas in a few months if the testing in the US goes well.
